Päiväkirja - jenalena, 19 syys 18

I have zero imagination when it comes to making food... I need cook books with LOTS of pictures. Several months ago, a GF gave me this book: https://keto-adapted.com/the-30-day-ketogenic-cleanse/ and I'm going to give it a go. I know myself well enough that I won't follow the meal plan religiously. However, I bought all the groceries for week 1 and have started the dairy free Keto plan today.

Everything that I eat right now, my keto WOE is on the do not eat list... no sugar free syrups, no artificial sweeteners, no cream in my coffee, (really no coffee), no cheese, ummmmm... no cheese! no butter! I didn't realize that so much of what I eat is dairy. Dairy free is going to be a big challenge for me, but I'm going to try it out. Maybe the reason that my last 6 weeks of keto wasn't successful was bc of too much dairy?

Let the experiment begin.

Wait - KETO is about fat. You can have butter, olive oil, nuts, avocado, coconut oil, etc. I see you said keto cleanse but that sounds different. I dropped all cheese from my plan and all grains most of the time. I use almond milk. I bet you do well off the dairy but try plain almond milk - you might like it. Good luck!

Thanks! I like almond milk, that’s a good idea. I hardly think that dairy free is going to work for me... but I’m going to see if it’s the difference between great weight loss and just hanging around.

I didn't lose with dairy, then removed dairy but kept butter. for some reason butter is different. I clarify it. I'm like you now, no keto cook book for me till I reach goal. Then I might try some of the fun stuff. you sound good. 👍

some people can not lose past a certain point with dairy, too much and it can stall a plan. I find 5 hour energy a good replacement for caffeine, I get withdrawals and this is about the only safe alternative for me. I am sensitive to a lot of foods

It’s good to experiment! Won’t know what your body wants until ya try out new things. At one point I thought dairy was slowing/stopping my progress so I removed it for a few days and there was still no change. Adefwebserver was posting about his extended fasts so figured I give that a try and I’ve been on a downward slope ever since 👍
