I love going to the gym, I'm so glad I decided to join one. I really enjoy weights. Cardio stuff is ok, I know I need to do cardio I just get bored easy, but I stick with it for at least 30 mins...
I'm so excited this summer I'm going back home to see my family and I set a goal for myself to be under 200 lbs by the end of May. I think that's resonable. Also there is a 5k at the end of June I plan on running with my friend.

In my opinion weights are most important anyways. More muscle means burning mire calories at rest. So long term it has the highest payout. I only aim for 45 minutes cardio anyhow you do what is best for you though!

Yey, I'm glad you enjoy the gym you joined! Personally, a combination of weights and cardio work best for me, that's why I love ChaLEAN EXTREME so much. :) Training for a 5K is going to be great cardio, just remember to start out slow and pace yourself. And just like iamachristianjesusfreak said, do what is best for you. You have about 19 weeks until the end of May to drop under 200lbs, you can do it!!

Its great that you have seeing your family as an incentive to meet your under 200lbs goal, I knew I was seeing my friends and family this christmas and set myself a goal related to that and it was definitely very motivating! Its also fantastic that you love the gym! Do you listen to podcasts or watch a tv in the gym at all when you're doing cardio? I can get bored with cardio too but I find if you're concentrating on something with words rather than just music, like an audiobook or podcast, it goes a lot faster. Keep up the good work!

I just listen to music, but I was thinking maybe a video or podcast would be better

It IS great that you love the gym. I think doing 30 minutes of cardio to start out with is great. I have learned to love the weights and learned to love running, also. Maybe I should be looking harder for a 5K to run. Keep it up!
