Päiväkirja - madaboutmoose, 12 helmi 14

My knees hurt. My calves are killing me. I am trying to talk myself into exercising again today but I hurt! LOL. Whine, snivel, complain.

It is Wednesday but it feels like it should be Friday! Guess I'm just turned around. Remember it was so cold here and I was belly aching about that? Well now it has decided to warm up enough to rain! Geesh. DH didn't get home until 5 this morning. Wet snow, then rain, says the roads are a mess. Hopefully the plows will do the county roads before I venture out there.

DH passed along a YouTube video for me to watch. the bottom line was stop complaining about life. It's the only chance you have. No one said it was supposed to be fair or problem free or exciting every day. We are dying so get on with living. Some very colorful language but well stated. Isn't it grand my joints and muscles ache today? It tells me I am alive!

So here I am with another day, another opportunity to shine, another day of living. I've still not weighed yet this week. Yesterday was another spot on eating day. What I have noticed is when I look at myself in the mirror I am more accepting of me, less critical ... Think to myself, not bad for an old broad! So that must mean I'm doing a better job of being kind to me and taking care of myself! Less recrimination.

Guess I better decide what to do here about exercising. Time is slipping away. Maybe more gentle yoga ... That may be what I need rather than the elliptical or Pilates ... Although Pilates and yoga are very similar. Decisions, decisions.

Take care my dear ones! Ever mindful of this journey and where I am ... On I go!

LOL! Not bad for an old broad. Heck you're just a youngen! DH is right; keep on the sunny side. I feel for you on the exercising. Sore, sore, go away, and don't come back another day.

As I've gotten older I've learned to accept myself more. I'm not perfect and I'm not going to stress about it. Will I still try to better my body, yes but not to the point that I miss out on life. Enjoy your day.

Decided to skip the exercise. Just not feeling it today! Going to respect the soreness. Must be telling me something.

Laugh and the world laughs with you... Weep and you weep alone. It takes more muscles to frown, than to smile :-). Plus smiling, releases endorphins, which make us feel better. Ok lecture over LOL

Have you tried magnesium supplement for the calf problem? New here as of today, so not sure about much yet.

As soon as I started back in the gym, I was aching so bad that sitting down and getting back up was hard. You have to continue to stretch and work it out. I went back hurting, but after my workout on the bike and other cardio machines at a moderate pace, and doing my stretches with the bands, my pain was lessened. Keep it going, it'll be worth it. :)

(-: at Glen!!! Oh I'm okay either way ... a fat old broad or a relatively slim old broad ... it's just I'd like to wear some of those nice clothes I have in my closet that don't fit right now!! Too cheap to buy new clothes!! LOL

50 not so old!! exercise may help those knees. am 64 strength training and cardio as well as losing 45 pounds has made a world of difference in my ankle and knee pain. ortho guy said do strength training and lose 50 pounds to try to ward away the knee replacement i was heading for. i just think about how i was hobbling around a year ago and how much pain medicine i'm now not taking.

Still not so old!! My job is customer service. I talked to a woman yesterday who was trying to get her to do list done so she could go skiing. She was 82!

Thanks wholefoodnut! I felt a whole lot better a few years ago when I managed to get down to the 180's. I'm hoping as the weight comes off again and my muscles strengthen I will feel better physically. I know I'm not ancient, and am doing my best to keep the spring in my step. Al the limbs still work and I'm healthy as a horse even if I am overweight so life is good! Tomorrow is yet another day!
