Päiväkirja - lovestheseaside, 28 touko 14

I'm more than ready to lose weight. I can't really say I've been successful in the past since I gained all the weight back plus some, but I do know what I have to do to lose it again. I will not gain this weight back. In the past I was never truely confident that I could follow through, but this time I am. I know the feeling of defeat much to well. I have lost 40 to 50 lbs and have put it all back on. That is a horribly sick feeling to see all your hardwork go down the drain. I think this time around I have to just change my mind set. Food is not the enemy (well maybe junk food is). I need it to fuel me. I just have to find some yummy recipes for meals and snacks.

I've also been up and down with my weight a number of times. Diets are ok for getting weight off but unless there's a plan for maintaining the loss it's so easy to just go back to what we were doing before and the weight goes back on with a vengeance. It needs to be a change in lifestyle, not just a diet that's over once weight is lost and then back to what was. That's how I'm approaching it this time around and very motivated to do this. It sounds like you're motivated to do this....take it one day at a time and stick to it, you can do it.

Thanks. I never really thought about it, but once I got to a comfortable weight I did go back to bad habits. I guess I just have to kiss the junk food goodbye.

You are 100% correct, you have to change your mindset about weight loss. Think of it as a lifestyle change, not a diet. But also, don't deny yourself anything. You can have a little bit of junk food here in there. Everything in moderation! Are you confused yet? :P Don't worry, you'll do great!

Thanks Deb and thanks Blue Box lol I get what you mean. A candy bar here and there is ok, but like 5 of them is not.
