I've said it many times before, but being a mom has truly been a dream come true for me... What I was put on this earth to do. I've thoroughly enjoyed each stage of my boys' lives, and this one is no different as my son here in SC truly leaves the nest and shares the fun of setting up his first apartment with me. We had a busy, but great day yesterday as he picked out kitchen supplies, towels, sheets, etc. Yes, it would have been nice to give him our hand-me-downs, but much more expensive to try to ship the inexpensive items than buy them here. So, 2 shopping carts at Target & 1 from Bed, Bath & Beyond, and he's set to go. Today we get Into the new digs, so will work together to get it set up and ready for the items that were valuable enough to ship to arrive tomorrow.
Tonight we're having dinner with the son of a neighbor from back home. He's a year older than my son, but finishing his last year at a college nearby. What a small world that they'd both find themselves in a small city in the south together. While they were never close friends at home, it'll be nice for DS to have a familiar face here and hopefully someone he can spen some time wih on weekends until he makes friends, or as they become better friends. Most of who DS has met so far at work are older, but it's only been a week. He's doing great with the move, but of course, mom worries about him being lonely. I remember how hard it was for me all those years ago when I first moved from home, also to an area 800 miles away where I knew no one. So, while he's been so busy with the move and new job, I'm being sure to share with him what I learned to find happiness again with each move.
Happiness is what I'm finding here and ATF is good, or at least as good as it can be eating out most meals. I'll grab a workout shortly, then get on with our day, but first I'll pray for serenity. And for this one day and through each one meal, moment, bite, thought & emotion, I'll pray, breathe, journal and express my way. I'm so ever grateful for each of amazing you, my family & IRL friends, having this wonderful and special time with my son and enjoying each moment of it while having the health & wealth to live this life I love!
