Last night was a major splurge (pizza, wine, coffee with cream, canolli, etc.), and having skipped the workout, I imagined seeing the worse on the scale today, so was surprised and delighted that it was only a half pound gain! That working out from last week (limited though it was), seems to be paying off!! Thank god!
Today has started off and is ending off rather well. For breakfast I made a high protein scrambled egg thing with meatless crumbles, cheese, veggies, egg whites, and a 1/4 of flat out bread. Had 2 cups of coffee with cream. Tided me over the whole day until dinner.
Dinner was a salad with a boca burger and blue cheese dressing (all these bottled ones suck!!! yucky, vile stuff!! Need to make my own as I've experimented on 3 bottles already, and several other types of dressings and no luck so far!). Also had a glass of soy milk and protein shake. A teaspoon or so of pine nut hummus (delish!!) with celery, while waiting for the food to cook.
The best part of today was getting my gym buddy back! We now have a vicarious, long-distance gym-workout---Let's call it TELEWORKOUT!!! We talk on the phone and challenge each other while working out in our separate gyms, almost across the country, time zones and distance be damned! I kicked their butt today (just in case they're reading this here! haha!!!). They didn't believe it, and want a picture tomorrow!! I'll show them!! This is so much fun! I didn't know I had a competitive spirit--and it's totally kicking in!
I really ramped up the workout today. Did 3 sets of 3 types of weights, and then 30 mins on elliptical (230 k, over 2 miles), 30 mins on treadmill (mostly at 11 incline! and 3.8 speed, and then ran for 8 mins at 4.5 mph and incline of 2!, total of about 2.7 miles), and then did 20 mins on the bike (over 5 miles there). I have a challenge of running longer (15-20 mins), and raising the incline to 13 with increased mph, and going faster on the elliptical (80 rpm, and 7 level), and faster on the bike (level 8, and 90-100 rpm).
Food has to be totally under control now. We are thinking of doing something like whoever breaks the diet, has to do an hour additional at the gym. That should prevent us from injesting anything bad!!!
