No weigh ins or updates for a few days - I've decided I want to try bulking up just a little bit, to see if I can add some muscle mass and keep a lid on the body fat gain. This was due in part to the fact that I don't feel like I'm making a lot of improvement after 5 weeks of P90X, and I think it's because I'm just not getting enough fuel to grow any new muscle.

So I've been tweaking my post-workout shake to get some simple carbs in there (dextrose, specifically), and eating more overall. It hasn't been junk food, but I've almost certainly been running a surplus the last few days.
And the scale shocked me this morning - it was up much higher than any body mass I could have actually put on, but we'll see where things are at in a few days. In the meantime, I'm going to use my clothes as a guide - as long as the belt doesn't start feeling tight, I'll assume I'm not putting on too much fat. And fortunately, despite the extremely high number on the scale, the belt still feels the same.

SO, after many many months of making a science out of losing weight, it's hard shifting gears to accept the numbers going up on the scale. We'll see how this goes. For the next few days I'm going to try to break even calorie-wise, until I get an accurate idea how much I've actually gained the last 4 days. Then take some tape measurements, and we'll see where we go from there!
