From your diet calender I can see that you are eating way too many carbs and way too little fat.

The food on the banting diet is divine and you won't even miss the carbs. I promise. I also love carbs and I baked pancakes for the kids yesterday and never even touched a bit. I've lost 2.1 kg this week and going strong.

I lost 2kgs in the 1st week but nothing afterwards . Not eating carbs and cycling didnt workout for me.some people say it works for them not eating carbs and doing long distance running but not for me .felt soo weak. Also it cost me more money to buy foods for banting. But overall i dnt have anything against it or people that doez the diet. I think if u have alot of weight to lose this diet will help and u see results quick. U can try and see how it works for u.the food in the book looks very nice made only a few as i dnt like spending alot of time in the kitchen. Thanks to banting i drink atleast full cream milk again and make my eggs in butter forgot how nice that tasted. :-)

i dunno about banting but LFHC works well :) and yes saige it would make u feel weak for the first 2 weeks or so especially if ur training and people who say they have loads of energy and shit and just talking kak, the transition from using glucose to fuel ur body to using ketones to fuel ur body is very tiring and draining but once its over with the enerygy levels start to pick up and it becomes normal but if you dont have enough fat then u'll feel weak.......you also run out of energy quicker when working out and the bodies preferred source of fuel is glucose and not ketones

whats the difference between vanting and LFHC?

banting is a diet based on the LCHF concept, so is atkins etc etc, its like banting is a specfic type of LCHF diet, whereas i eat a modified LCHF diet specifically catered to my needs, so its neither banting nor atkins :D but remember i said im gonna change my diet for this month lol we'll c how it wrks, if it doesnt then im switching back to LCHF at the end of december

Banting is low carb, high fat, medium protein. Atkins is a lot higher in protein. Banting is also very specific about what fats you can have, Atkins not so much. I started my journey about a year ago and it took me that long to learn and work out what works for me and have settled upon Banting (with minimal nuts and dairy because I find they stall my weight loss). I have been banting for 7 weeks and have lost 5Kg's. This seems a little slow to most but I do have hypothyroidism which makes losing a very slow road for me. I stick to banting quite closely but have a low carb treat once a week. I do have a couple of glasses of wine or whisky with water every now and then but never have any sugar, grains or bad fats. In terms of the cost - I find I spend less. The most expensive thing that is a staple for me is coconut oil. I do buy almond flour and coconut flour but these used very sparingly and rarely. We don't spend money on eating out or take aways or snacks. Also as time has gone on, our appetites have diminished so our food goes further. I believe that forward planning is critical to weight loss success and as a result our food wastage has reduced drastically. Good luck :-)

yeah, i dont do any type of dairy as it hinders weightloss for me as well except for cream, i also use olive oil if i cant afford coconut oil and works perfectly fine and yeah like tracy said, do ur research and find out what works for u :) took me about 2-3 months to research everything properly and implement different strategies and then the ball just started rolling from there

I love your lifestyle changes Tracey, thanks for the well put advice - well done and keep it up!

I agree ibi - this change will most definately take time - I will do my research ....I don't plan on cutting out carbs completely nor do I plan on eating ridiculous amounts of fats - will maybe have a proper carb once a day then cut down as I feel I am ready :)
