Hi Guys,

SO as some of you know I have attempted to quit smoking again - so far so good :)

Other thing, I changed my goal weight to a closer goal - that way I can focus on the smaller goal and not be intimated by still having to lose a total of 6-7kg but 1kg and if I reach the one, I will change my goal again and again until I am down to where I want to be!

Other than that , I am really struggling! I am a compulsive binge eater, I eat when I am not hungry just because the food is available, I eat cause I feel fat - then I eat about 5 chocolates in 1 day. I eat till I feel sick and hate myself for it ... then I need to try limit everything and eat less and then I binge again because I crave everything! I eat things and tell myself I am NOT hungry, I am not even in the mood for the certain food, but well once I've started there's no going back!
And I am not sure how to fix this??
I don't know which way to go anymore :(

I am really sad, I feel like I've failed, like I've become someone I've never been and always feared becoming!
It hurts!

It's terrible ! I found a blog - by Nia SHanks about her previous binge eating and how she recovered and that's the only blog that has ever meant anything to me and felt like truth!

Oh gosh haven't we been there! Have you looked at the LCHF diet? It has really helped so many people with this. I don't binge eat so much as binge whiskey in the evenings. We all have addictions we struggle with. Be strong & never give up! We WILL get there!

Also trying to stop smoking adds to this - it is terrible. The twisp e-cig helps withstand the nicotine withdrawal without the poison of the ciggies & replaces the nibbling desire ... It's is hard to try to change too many things at once. Think kaizen, small changes over a long time reaps great results !

Thanks ! LCHF won't work for me since I can't have dairy ! (Causes bloat & constipation)... And the smoking is not all that bad ! Especially during the day it doesn't bother me ! Only when someone else smokes around me !

you dont need dairy with LCHF....fun fact, more ppl dies from skin cancer because of tanning than lung cancer from smoking so keep smoking and stop tanning lol

Hey Shygetslean! Look at what you have done! you have already lost 1.1kg. That's amazing! Yeah, you've had a few serious setbacks, but that's all they are, just setbacks. Don't stay down though, remember your goal, get back up and keep pushing forward. Discouragements will come for sure, and there will be the occasional "five-chocolates-a-day" days, but don't perpetuate that trend by beating yourself up, rather forget about it and move on to the next day. Some practical advice on resisting cravings: don't totally remove everything from your diet. Rather, give yourself permission to eat one chocolate or reward food of your choice, at the end of a good week. That way you deal with your craving, and you eliminate the guilt trips which just lead to more binge eating. (You can only control the beast, you can't actually kill it. So be smart, allow one reward a week so that the beast is pacified and doesn't run over you every time it sees some chocolate.) Be Strong, don't give up!
