On July 1st I had to have another ankle surgery, this one involved having a graph and screws to help rebuild my shattered ankle. It's been a very long 7 months as I am still unable to walk with out the boot. I can't walk very far with out my crutches either. I even still have my knee walker for those really really bad days. I was dropped from PT because I was not progressing, more like regressing. And now today my doctor has told me that because of all the surgeries I have had to reconstruct the ankle I have sever nerve damage and that is why I am still in lots of pain. So I have to now see a pain specialist to help manage the pain. It is so hard for me because before I fell at work four years ago I would get up in the morning and hit the gym or go running before work. Then BAM this happens. Suddenly I am unable to go to the gym I spent my days laying on the couch or in bed with my ankle elevated recovering from one surgery after another. So I reached for the comfort food. The only good thing that has happened today is that when I went for my checkup they made me weigh in and I discovered I have lost 7 lbs. This made my day. First because it has been a LONG time since I have seen the number 2 as the first digit in my weight. The second because it made me really feel like I could do this. :)
