We ended up going to the casino last night to escape the heat and of course empty our wallets!! We did have fun ... but of course I ended up eating more than I would have on a typical day. Oh well.
Good news!!! Bob and I were able to chat in the car on the way to the casino and now I understand his concern about my 175 goal. In the past I have had a tendency to "beat up" on myself. He was concerned that if I did not reach 175 or was not able to maintain at that weight that I would think that I had failed! His concern has been about supporting me to feel good about where I am ... not a way to keep me from making more progress. WOW. I would have not guessed that in a zillion years. I was totally mis-reading his comments. So we talked about my goal and I reassured him that I have no plans to do anything drastic simply just to get my numbers down. That actually I am looking at maintaining within a "range" not at a specific number and that I trust, if I continue to do what I have been doing that my body will naturally find a weight that works for me. We even discussed the possibility that I might go below 175 ... and he was okay with that.
I have to brag about my mother today, judibird here on fatsecret. Today she turned BLUE!!! She is just a few pounds from her fatsecret goal and has done so well!! She is so excited ... feeling positive about herself ... and my goodness ... she's a mere shadow of her former physical self!! I am so VERY PROUD of her. As I commented on her journal ... she is living proof that one is never "too old" or "too sedentary" to make changes!! She ROCKS!!!!
It is after noon and I've done some ironing and now it is time to sweat!! A little slower start to this Sunday as we didn't arrive home until the wee hours of this morning!! So time for my elliptical ... and finishing up Smart People ... a movie I'm still not sure if I like but I have it here from Netflix ... I might as well finish watching it!!
Thanks so much for all the great feedback and comments on my journal yesterday!! I never expected so many!! I LOVE this community!! I LOVE not feeling so alone and isolated in my journey. You all ROCK!!!!
