Am I alone in doing countdowns? Like if I could just lose 1lb a week by In 10 weeks I'll be 10lb less for that occasion! Uugghh. I wonder if that's how I jinx myself. I've only ever been successful once using WW. But I never did get back on that train no matter how long I kept trying. And I was sick of counting on WW to play games with plans and points. That's why I'm here on FS. I want to KNOW myself the calories and nutrition values. Not some silly formula like The Great Oz behind the curtain. Anyone else know what I mean?

I've done the countdowns. Usually wanting to lose × number of pounds before an event. It's what started my most recent (& successful) endeavor to lose weight....a planned beach trip, 4 years ago. What has helped me be successful is to embrace the counting & planning. Every previous time I lost weight, got tired of monitoring what I eat, stopped counting calories & eventually went back to eating too much. Now it's just a way of life. I plan healthy meals, keep acceptable snacks on hand. I eat whatever I want. I just have to figure out how much fits into my plan for the day.
