My hubby is a gardener and he grows a lot of the food we eat. Now that it is coming on the beginning of another gardening season I am trying to use up the last of last years goodies. The majority of that right now is blackberries and potatoes. So trying to find recipes to use up potatoes but also get some protein in there.

I love blackberries. they grow wild around here and are everywhere. Good for you and are low in carbs.

I'm trying to figure out how lettuce, cucumber, and tomato make a salad when they don't ripen at anywhere near the same time??

@linkrunner: where do you live? Here in England I have lettuce all year round( on the windowsill in the winter) and my cucumbers and tomatoes ripen in harmony. Well tomatoes seem to have a longer season. But apperantly you shouldn't mix cucumber and tomatoes anyway, weird huh? Skwhite:I am making a fish pie tonight topped with potatoe. and for dessert we will have dairy free icecream with blackberry sauce :)

I'm in Massachusetts. I'm not much or a gardener, but lettuce is usually an early plant, then cucs, then tomatoes when just growing outside.
