Well, back to the land of accountability, and 20" of snow! Oh yes. We had a blizzard the day before we got back. Not what you want to be coming home to after 11 days in Jamaica. But, we have a wonderful neighbour who dug us out after the storm.
I spent my days in a lounger reading Stephen King. I actually made it to the gym twice, then sand-gravity kicked in. I didn't over-eat at the buffet, the served meals were of a very nice portion size, and I didn't eat dessert (never do). Did I drink beer? Yes. Did I drink sugary drinks? Yup, but only the last couple of days (discovered a drink called Amaretto Sour). Did I drink wine? You bet. Did I over-indulge in food and drink? Nope. Did I gain weight? Oh yes - 8.2 pounds (much better than last year's 12 pounds). Unfortunately, sodium is high on the menu which caused me to retain fluids (and my ankles know it). I'm not recording a weigh-in until Sunday, my usual day, so that my body can ditch the fluid and get over the travel.
One bonus for this trip was that I did not injure myself! This is the first time in about 5 years running. I guess physio is really paying off.
While I thoroughly enjoyed my vacation, I'm ready to get back to work, get moving, and get my calories back on track. In other words, getting back to my normal life.
