Went to a dietitian today to get some help with what I am eating right and wrong...I'm not eating enough protein and carbs...but she kinda harped on the cholesterol and eggs thing...

One thing that was helpful was learning how to interpret what servings are and how to gauge/measure them without having to actually measure...she was helpful in some ways, but I'm not totally sure I believe every word she said...she was surprised that I had lost almost 10lbs since my last visit a few weeks ago, even though I told her that I had really changed my diet and was watching what I ate...I really wasn't that impressed with her...

Maybe I'll feel better about our next visit in a month...

Sadly, just because she is a dietician doesn't necessarily mean that she knows what she's talking about. It sounds like this is the impression you got of her. I think it's great for you to challenge her, but of course also listen to her (while adding your own sprinkle of common sense). There is a LOT of knowledge here, if you have any questions and doubts, check the community forum, use the search engine, use google. You'll be surprised how many things we learn as a group.

That's actually what made me question her knowlege...I saw a thread on here about cholesterol (I think you posted on there) and the effect of eggs...she also really wanted me to stop having cream in my coffee...not gonna happen...I've tried and I find coffee too bitter without cream, and I don't enjoy the taste of non-dark roast coffees...catch 22...so cream it is... I understand that she is just concerned about my cholesterol levels might rise, the same for my blood pressure...but I don't have these problems at this point, and as long as I am being reasonable about quantities of food...I don't see where it would be a problem...maybe I was taking issue with her being quite young, but I don't think so...I think that she is a smart person whose views may change with some life experience (okay, maybe the age thing a little...), but I think everyone changes their views on things as they age...different experiences effect everyone in different ways... I'll take her text book info for what it is, and do some research on my own to form my own opinion...also will talk to my regular doctor and my diabetes specialist to get their input as well... Later.
