Today has been a difficult one food wise. I’ve been hungry all day and still would be eating if I was not serious about my woe. I asked a question about hunger and protein intake on my FB group and apparently the turkey I have been eating may be to blame. It digests much quicker than steak or pork and therefore I am not as satisfied. Seems reasonable but I would have thought protein was protein. Guess not. I have eaten everything I am allowed today and still want more. I’ll just try to go to sleep in a bit and hope to wake in a different state. I have been good about no diet soda. Even though I really wanted the treat when I was at Walmart. I held firm 😊. Yay me. Now to do some squats. Trying to create a habit with them.

I'm trying to finish all the diet soda in my house by January 2nd when I start 2 challenges. Then no more. I am also giving up beef, shrimp and egg yolks which are all high in cholesterol. After my next lab tests in June I'll know whether the changes have lowered the cholesterol and also lowered the amount of inflammation. My doctor has encouraged me to get protein from non animal sources if possible. So I also hope to give up dairy - no more hot chocolate with skim milk! I know beans are a good source of protein and I think they are pretty filling. Don't know if you are interested in joining one of the challenges with me. I seem to remember you are doing a low carb diet. On the diet I will be doing I won't worry about carbs since I won't be eating processed foods. Carbs from fruits and veggies are fine according to my doctor (I ask him everything and really trust what he tells me). I think I will probably still eat some chicken and fish (even though I'm not crazy about fish) because they are low in cholesterol and I don't think I can eat more than 1/2 cup to maybe a cup of beans in a day. I didn't eat good today. A total of 3/4 of a bagel with cream cheese , hot chocolate and a small piece of meatloaf. I won't be eating any of that after the 1st. I'm emptying my freezer with things I won't be eating starting next week.

Wow. You have some awesome control. But I guess everyone has a woe that they can deal with. I would not want to give up so much. I know I could not live long term that way whereas I can with the keto or low carb method. I admire your determination. I really do think the diet soda is bad for my body. If it wasn’t I do t think I would crave it as I do. I think it taps into my sugar addiction. I plan to stay away from it at least until the end of January. Then I will try to extend it another month and then another. I know I would be well served to never have a diet soda again
