A beautiful Tuesday after a long, productive, difficult weekend. DS#6 and his family came and stayed for the weekend. He built a 16x16 deck off the right side of our great room. It looks very nice and I appreciate all the hard work that went into it. I spent the weekend feeding everyone and keeping 6 kids busy. The difficult part was GoodMan was REALLY grumpy. I don't know what was going on, but EVERY decision was difficult. He made everyone uncomfortable. Normally I can take him aside and find out what's going on, but he just wouldn't tell me what's going on. Today he acts a bit better, but NOW I'm grumpy! I leave in a few minutes to get a haircut and I'll probably go shopping or do something away from home for a few hours to give us a break from each other for a while.

My eating was not as good as it should have been this weekend. There were healthy choices available, I just didn't do a good job of avoiding the not-so-good stuff. One good thing is I didn't even make or buy too much junk. No cookies, cakes, candies...but I had some chips and some popsicles. Oh well, the weekend is over. Today is a new day.

Exercise was somewhat better. I got the kids together for a x-Box competition. We played a number of rounds of activity games to keep everyone moving. My muscles are sore - so I know I moved a lot. I can't find my Misfit. It fell off sometime on Sunday and I haven't been able to find it so I don't know how many steps I walked. The Misfit is around the house somewhere, I hope I find it as I clean up after the weekend.

Thoughts for Thursday...

Today is another day to stain the logs and beams. Yesterday I worked on beams for 4 hours and got two beams stained. My right arm is getting sore and I'm getting tired of moving the ladder, but the wood is looking much better. I'm also taking the opportunity to dust and clean high places...MUCH needed.

My eating is still not great. I wonder if I'm using more calories going up and down the ladder so I feel more hungry, or if I am feeling adrenaline from being up high and I translate that adrenaline as hunger? Anyway, I feel like I could be making better choices.

As for exercise, I hope climbing up and down the ladder and moving furniture is providing the movement my body needs right now. I have no inclination to do other exercise, but in all honesty this is what I want to be able to do. I want to be able to use my body to do everyday things.

I will have a houseful again this weekend. My eldest granddaughter is expecting a baby in July. Her baby shower is Sunday. On Saturday night GoodMan and I will host 14 family members who plan to attend the shower. I hope to have the logs and beams stained by Friday so I can spend Saturday morning putting the house back together, but I'll have to put the house back together either way. I guess I better get off the computer and get to work!
