I did lose a lot of weight when I lived with undiagnosed Celiac, but not only did I lose fat I lost muscle and bone density. My goal is to rebuild the muscle and bone I have lost, this will of course take time and effort. Muscles mean so much to a healthy body in so many ways, the way it looks, the way it feels, and how it boosts the metabolism.
To lose Fat and NOT Muscle:
1. Progressive weighted resistance
2. Calorie deficit, not more than 1 lb per week
3. Protein, eat 1g per cm of your height per day
4. Cardio: 30 minutes of moderate every day
10 min HiiT(1-2x's per week)

I am 51 and suffer from Menorrhagia, but I am in the age range for menopause. I don't want to suffer like the ladies in my life did when they went through their menopause.

Eat the Mediterranean Diet include these items in particular:
Flax Seeds;I like it ground and put into my oat meal.
Dried Apricots; they are great for healthy skin.
Sesame Seeds
Dark Choclate
Berries
Chickpeas
Legumes
Melon
Whole Grains: I have Celiac's so I can have: amaranth, brown rice, buckwheat, hominy, millet, quinoa, sorghum, teff.

Reducing stress is the MOST important thing to do, but meditation helps. I like those fireplace videos with soft music playing to just sit and relax to. This is the time of life to let things go, like toxic people and meeting social ideals about what you are supposed own or be. Free yourself from convention. I decorate for Christmas Yule, but I do not feel like I have to buy anyone gifts; I do buy my sons gag gifts for their stocking because it makes me laugh. I do like to send friends and family lovely notes telling them how much I love and appreciate them.
Exercise is so important in all stages of life. I enjoy cardio that doesn't last longer than 20 minutes at a time and weighted exercises are good to do every other to every two days to keep those muscles strong. Plus, exercising generally helps with sleep, especially a walk outside in the cool Winter air.

New Routine for December:
A.M. 10-20 min Cardio pre-breakfast
After work: 10-45 Cardio or Weight lifting every 2 days
P.M. 10-20 min Walk
