I’m starting to have those thoughts that begin the backslide and eventual loss of control on my diet. You know, “you deserve to eat what you want!” Or “just one meal isn’t going to kill your plans” or “if you’re in this for the long haul, today isn’t going to matter”.
I’ve been reigning in my inner temptress as much as possible, but a flour tortilla on Friday, misc fruit and too much food on Saturday, a handful of tortilla chips today... I’m feeling pretty ugly about staying on track. Uggg.
Weigh in will be ugly in the morning. Time to search for an exciting new Keto recipe.

Hubby and I went for a bike ride tonight. It felt like two old fat people trying to wobble our way into town... Ha ha!

Needed a break from the diligence. Not sure what the impulse was driven from... I’ve had the mischief in my brain all day. Settled on a combo fajita, some chips and salsa and a wine margarita (wine instead of tequila). Overall it’s out of the daily carb goals, but relatively low on the “cheat” scale. Ha! I don’t really care right now! I’m super full! I’m super satisfied. I’m super happy that I got to hang with the kids, share plates and not feel limited for a meal.

I'm feeling a little obsessive with my weight loss/ketogenic lifestyle. Maybe it's because it's SO drastically different to what I've been doing for the last 38 years of my life? Maybe it's because I have to focus on not grabbing chocolate from the nearby office's candy bowl, smash a slice of local pizza into my mouth during a lunch meeting, or even order the high sugar coffee that I'm super craving right now?
So... instead of all of those unhealthy things; I decided to chart my progress:
July 30th was the beginning of my 6th week.
Completed 5 WEEKs of KETO;
tracked 24/35 days (out of cell service for 8 days),
averaged 27 total carbs/day (I don't really track net carbs),
averaged 1430 cals/day,
and lost a total of 11.8 pounds.
I have yet to add an exercise routine into my new way of life... but I'm getting there.
