Did you work out this morning? I like the idea of fasting but I workout in the mornings. If I don't eat something before my workouts are nearly impossible. And right after I finish my workout I'm starving!!! lol

You really dont eat much - fasting too - I would faint! Would never work for me. Take care :)

@AquaSurf00. I normally do a 'small' dance routine to get me going in the morning or chase the bus:). I didn't actually plan to fast, I just did it. @Makitsi. I had to confront the 'demon' of over eating and not moving around much. I try to manage my eating regimes Monday to Friday as I am not at home but weekend is a real struggle - binging galore!! I seem to have figured out this breakfast and starving thing, guys. I never used to have breakfast. I just get up and go, thinking I was fine (never skip breakfast, never!!). But I realised that my cravings and binging episodes were becoming quite bad. I also had problem with what to eat in the morning. I don't know how to eat a slice of bread and small cup of tea for breakfast (not an African thing) - it must be large enough to make feel full or I go without!! I then really studied how metabolism works. Read about eggs (good source of protein) and how it can fill you in the morning. That is what I have now. Here is my daily routine. Water first thing in the morning, then a boiled egg around 8am, fruit salad between 10am and 12pm, vegetable soup at around 2pm and supper (whenever from 6pm, this is when I get home). I am fortunate to have a gym at my work place which I use around 4pm – for 30mins. I have been following this routine now for few 6 weeks. All these have helped to take my mind away from those horrible cravings that normally lead to binging on the wrong type of food and over eating – that horrible cycle of guilt too. And throwing the fast in yesterday was effortless but won't want to overdo that though as it could mess up my metabolism – except for religious purpose. Well, this is my way to stay focus. Long talk, I know :) . I’m starting boxing training tonight – wish me a knock out :)!!!

That really looks like a sensible daily food plan :) And boxing - heard it should be really good workout. I started at karate in January, it's good fun and besides the sweating and heartbeating it's great for focus and balance - stuff I struggle with. Update on the boxing, plz :)

Returned from the boxing 2 hours ago. It was so much fun... but tough. lots of sweats and de-stressing. It lasted one hour and I can wait to find out how much kals I may have lost. It can be quite an intimidating environment with all the slim ladies and fit guys around - well, in my boxing gym anyway but hey, I didn't care because it is all about what I can get out of it. I will let you know how I feel tomorrow. I found it challenging because of my weight. I couldn't do the 'hoping' but I know I will only get better with time. I pray. mmm! Karate, Makitsi? tell me more?

Sounds like you had fun beating up the sandbags :D Oh, and dont let them intimidate you, allthough I do know what you mean. I actually always find entering the worst, when I'm inside Im okay. Well, karate :) Actually I just started about a month ago, my hb and our 2nd son have been at it for 1½ years, our daughter started in the autumn, and then I thought - why not. I've always loved martial arts, but not really tried it out. I did tai chi for a while, but where I live you can only practice it once a week on a fittness team, which meant no possibility for progressing, and new faces every time. I missed being around people I could sozialice with, so to speak. And I always found myself tied to the kitchen when the rest (except our oldest son) went to practise. So I joined them and I really like it. we do 1½ hours twice a week plus extra training 5-6 saturdays each semester. Graduation each semester, so I hope to achieve a colored belt (yellow, perhaps orange) before the summer break. I struggle with balance and muscle tensions on my right side, partly due to bad posture (I lost my left eye as a child and compensate for my sight to the left by slightly tilting my head to that side). But after Tai Chi and now Karate, I find it easier to keep my balance, even standing on one foot with closed eyes - but only for the shortest time though :D I guess, the main thing is finding exercizes you actually enjoy.

I agree with you Makitsi. Doing activities that you love makes a lot of difference. I was at the training for 1 whole hour! I won't have believed that I could do a strenuous activities for more than 30 minutes. To crown it all I have 2 bad legs and just stopped using the crutch - thanks to the increased level of activities and tiny fat loss. Well done and I will watch this space for the news on your success..
