meet your macros let me let ya in on a secret meet your macros meet your calories. i allow myself 2800 calories a day but if i meet my macros at 2400 my goal for the day has been met

I think eating healthy foods is the best. And if you are losing and healthy that is all that matters. Macros and numbers are tools... helps some people but if you are good without it ... keep it up

Just look at it at the end of the day, not for every meal. I think it's impossible to eat the right percentage of macros for every meal, so I just try to watch it during the whole day. I haven't really been counting macros that much but maybe I should

Well then in my case I'd be done at 240 calories, moutainman. I've only had breakfast and it's telling me I've gone over my macros. The only thing I ate with carbs was the banana.

look at it after entrering all your meals the app will keep balancing it. at the end of the day you will get the exact amount of what you have eat

I was sailing along, thinking I knew what was good for me, eating healthy and happily gaining weight. When I was thirty and running one marathon a month there was no problem. When I was fifty and spending more time behind a desk it wasn't so funny.
I started counting calories and things became clearer. The bottom line if I ate 4500 KCal per day and only needed 3000 KCal I could gain 1/3 of a pound a day.
The bottom line it was important to know a banana had 4 times as many calories per oz than pineapple or 2 1/2 times as many as an apple.
Eat anything you want, but be informed, take charge of your eating and be in control. It doesn't mean you don't have to have fun, just that gain health habits.
Part of my plan is to know the caloric value of what I eat, understand portion size and when to eat (intermittent fasting). Everyone has a plan, a theory or something that works for them. You will find what works for you.

I know everybody tries to tell you what to diet is the best. I'm not going to do that. I'm just going to tell you that the key to weight loss is having low insulin levels. If insulin is present at high levels in your system, it will block your ability to burn fat and tell your body to store everything that you consume. That is physiology. It is not debatable. It's not simply a matter of calories in versus calories out. It's what your body does with those calories. Does it burn it and use it for fuel? Or does it store it and then make you hungry 3 hours later?
You want to focus on foods that do not raise your insulin levels. If you're trying to burn fat, you want to eat in a manner that allows your body to access stored fat frequently. That's why intermittent fasting is so successful. Find intermittent fasting with a low insulin triggering diet and the weight will melt off without any effort. Google the insulin index of food. it's similar to the glycemic index but not quite the same. There are foods that don't have a high glycemic load, but trigger High insulin levels, IE Whitefish.

What i should have said on my post is what worked for me to achieve my loss and how i maintain which is how i said in my original post everbody is different what works for some isn't the same for others good luck to ya

Thanks summer but I don't focus on a specific diet for a reason. It's just not for me. And I have been losing weight just fine but thanks.
