Päiväkirja - madaboutmoose, 29 huhti 09

The last couple days have been more difficult than usual for me. I've had a scratchy throat so I think not feeling 100% has something to do with it. I've not strayed from my plan but I sure have been thinking about all kinds of greasy, high calorie things I would love to consume like a big double cheeseburger, onion rings, and a shake!! LOL!! I've also felt a bit edgy ... which might also just be from not being up to par. My mom tells me she has felt the same way though and she has been feeling fine so maybe it is something in the moon or stars or the tides????? LOL!!! Or perhaps it is the 14 week itch???? We've been on Fat Secret for 14 weeks as of this past Sunday.

It will pass, of that I am certain. If I REALLY wanted a cheeseburger I could eat one. I will no doubt at some point. But not now. Those beejeebers are still around ... the fear of losing "control." The fear of returning to prior habits and lapsing into unconscious and automatic eating. Now must be the time for me to swim around in this a bit ... and come to the realization that this is simply part of the journey ... nothing to be overly concerned about ... just something to notice and keep taking step after step after step.

So I will turn from this and focus on what I have on hand for the day. There is no need to hurry or worry. I am okay. Life is good!! And, I am in very good company here among my buddies ... those scattered near and far who have walked many miles in my shoes!

I like the analogy of "swimming around a bit". I do that when I am thinking about what to do next...I just need to make sure that my "swimming around a bit" does not become "spazzing in place"..LOL. Great entry. Later

DON'T DO IT!!!! You know how hard it is once you fall off & don't stay focused! It is like .. once I had one why not 2 & look what happened! We have each other 7 our buddies here. It is like calling a friend. Come online instead of eating & we will help you! I have a feeling it is just a whim. You CAN do this! You have proven that already! GO GIRL!!

What I do when I want a cheeseburger is, I go to Culver's (because I love the taste of Culver's burgers) and ask for a DOUBLE cheese burger without the bun. I ask them to put yellow mustard and pickles in between the pieces of meat with one piece of cheese. Then put the two pieces of meat together. I have them wrap it up like a regular burger in that paper they use. I can then eat it like a regular burger keeping the wrap on to catch the drippings. OMG, so yummy, no bun needed. No bun calories, no carbs. Just protein and one piece of cheese and is it so good. Just a thought for you, you can have that cheeseburger. But if I am in a bun mood, I order a REGULAR cheese burger, I ask for a knife, I take the top bun off, cut the burger in half and put one half on top the other half and I have a fat cheeseburger with only the bottom part of the bun. I can still have my cheeseburgers once in a while, I just get creative about keeping the points down while satisfying my craving for it. I never get fries.

Great ideas!!! I don't know what a Culver's are but I imagine I could do the bunless cheeseburger trick anywhere!! No worries ... I'm not "falling" anywhere ... simply acknowledging what has been on my mind ... and continuing on this journey of making peace with my own body, healthy eating, and blah, blah, blah!!! LOL!!! Oh yea ... also trying to avoid "spazzing in place"!!!

Ah! I know exactly how you feel! I have been wanting ice cream for forever, but I am so scared to have it because I am afraid I will 'lose control'. You have seen me do this all through jan, feb and march, and it is something I need to work on. I need to get rid of this "all of nothing" mentality sooner or later, but rather later because right now I seem to be dropping the weight (fingers crossed for fridays weigh in lol) You are doing wonderfully though. Dont worry, this craving will pass, and if it doesnt, then you just need to make peace with the cheeseburger. Haha
