I'm very disappointed. This is the first time I have weight in two weeks. I've stayed away from junk food and watched my eating portions. I even limited my food on shift work. I just hope it's a glitch and be back on track. The only thing now that I can think of is that I drink a lot of fluids and a lot of diet pepsi. When I drink less diet pepsi it seems that my weight goes down. But it's hard to replace. I tried carbonated water, Flavored water, and just water but i get the pepsi craving and don't know how to kick it. Something I will have to work on.

Diet Coke is my addiction of choice. Hopefully, someday I will give it up for good. I just know it won't be anytime within the next two weeks.

You didn't gain 8# from Diet Pepsi. While portion control is a great first step, you may want to consider getting yourself a scale and rigorously tracking and logging everything you eat. Good luck!

I can gain so easily from high sodium foods, which are also usually high fat & high calorie! As Jimmiepop suggested, a kitchen scale is a MUST - portions have to be weighed out. It's a pain but never trust your eyeballs on "guessing" portions. Log EVERYTHING, for an honest assessment about your daily macros & calories. :)

I've not been successful with sugarless beverages. They seem to mess with my metabolism. I didn't drink water for years before this diet and it's still one of the hardest things to deal with. All the same I wouldn't worry too much if you're following a healthy diet and trying to keep active.

Hello not posted on here before & only joined recently. So its just new tracking my weight. Quitting colas is much like quitting smoking. the caffeine withdrawls do not help either. So you may want to Diy a caffinated alternative like black tea to keep chilled in bottles. Add lemon etc to keep it tart just to cover the withdrawls and quench thirst. Also as jimmipop posted about logging your weight and measuring regularily I agree 100%. I try to think of it this way. Its not fat were fighting its the unhealthy lifestyle that led us here that is hard to change.

Fake sweet messes with the metabolism and cravings. As a possible substitute that's lower in calories than non-diet soda, you could try soda water with a tablespoon of vanilla syrup (like you can get in a coffee shop). One tbsp is 40 calories.

In place of diet pop please try flavoured Perrier water. Aspartame eventually gets recognized as regular sugar by your body. At least that's what I heard. Good for initial weight loss, but then it starts creeping up. Like psh17 days it messes with your metabolism and cravings. Good luck!

Plateaus are hard to push through while your body adjusts. Hang in there!

There is a soda called Zevia and is a much healthier option than diet coke. It has stevia to sweeten. And there's a cola verion. I like the lemon lime one best. I keep some in the fridge for when I get that craving for something so I only drink once in a while. It has zero calories and it doesn't affect the scale.

I have the same problem. I'm in a challenge and I have to go 1 week without soda and I'm already craving. But if I see a change at weigh in at the end of the week then I plan to only have diet soda as a treat

I add 1Tbs apple cider vinegar and a tsp of stevia to my sparkling water 750ml and it tastes like apple cider, but without the alcohol. It gets me through the craving for wine and cider especially now the hot days are here.

you’re right about the Pepsi. Quit that and you’re well on your way. Just say no.

The “diet” versions of soda can actually be worse than the normal versions of the soda sometimes. Artificial sweeteners can kill your weight loss goals. Its bad to drink your calories aswell and can easily end up putting you over your daily limit of macros for things without you even realizing. Drop the soda and try a smoothie or try some tea if you need caffeine. I personally used to constantly drink soda everyday. I would drink a 12 pack to myself basically every day if not every 2 days. Since then i’ve ditched it and went for alternatives like tea, and making sure to drink lots of water. Drinking water boosts metabolism and can reduce hunger, thus water makes it easier to lose weight. Just think that every time you drink water you’re losing weight. Ofcourse keep your sodium intake to moderate levels aswell as if you eat too much salt (I love salt) you’ll hold on to more water and store it as water weight. Good luck with your goals I’m sure you can meet them. It just takes dedication and self discipline. Drink lots of water and if you need to id suggest starting by limiting yourself to 1-2 cans of soda a day and working your way down. The goal should be to eliminate it completely so you can go without it. Then you can reintroduce it back into your life and have complete control over it and live free. Then there are “cheat days” which can be good for you as long as you don’t over indulge. A cheat day to eat things you love and drink things you love can help reduce cravings for the long run and help actually boost metabolism. Cheat days shouldn’t be “how many calories can I eat” days though. I personally have a cheat day every 1-2 weeks. Most of the time every 2 weeks. I’m down 45 pounds from my starting weight and gaining muscle now. You got this just stay strong.
