This completes one week on Atkins.

I am shocked that I lost 10lbs. in a week. I know a lot is water weight, but I've also lost inches, too. Ive lost 1.25" off my waist and 2" off my hips/belly! I really didnt think i would lose that much since i've already lost 60lbs/5 sizes and I'm so close to my goal. It kinda makes me wonder if I'll end up less than my goal. One thing to consider is that the weight loss will slow and hopefully as it levels out i will be replacing fat with muscle.

Speaking of muscle, i haven't walked in over a month (just too hot). Yesterday Matthew and I walked a little over a mile. It was NOT a fast mile, and i did no jogging, yet my muscles were fatigued. I've heard if you don't exercise that you can lose all your progress in 3 weeks. Sadly, i think I've proven this. The up side is that it should be easier to get back in shape because of muscle memory and less weight to haul around.

I'm so excited about the possibility of really losing this stubborn fat!

You're certainly off to a very good start, Karen! Your weight loss will slow down of course, but Adkins appears to work very well for you. I hope cooler temperatures will soon allow you to resume your walking and get those muscles in good working order again. Your weight loss this past year has been quite impressive, as well as your dedication to your goal. The inches lost have to be motivating also! Have great weekend, my friend! You are an inspiration!
