Been out of sorts over past 2 weeks. Went to in-laws for a week and ended up having to put up with a bored and rude 10 year old for the duration. Didn't get a chance to do any of the normal activities as we were volunteered for other activities that included "you don't mind, do you?". Well, yeah, I did mind. I was more wound up after 3 days of vacation than I was with 50+ hour work weeks. Oh well, that's part of being married, I guess. Back to logging food and getting back into my routine. I'm pleased that the couple of pounds gained last week came off easily. So, happy weekend all!

I love kids, don't get me wrong. But there's a reason why I chose not to have any. I just haven't got the patience for it. And, yes, I know it's different when they're your own. But, when a kid is a right proper brat to a clergyman, I draw the line of patience there. We interred my F in L's ashes while we were there. It was a very nice graveside service (and kiddo behaved himself) but it brought a lot of sadness back to the surface. There were a lot of friends and family present, so it was a good support system for M in L during her final good-bye. In true Newfoundland style, everyone gathered at the house for a get-together, food and laughter. All in all it was a good time. I enjoy my visits away, but it's good to be in my own home again, and get my life back. :-)
