We went out of town for an overnighter in Nashville to see comedian Kevin James. I've always wanted to see him ever since his Sweat the Small Stuff special that ran on the Comedy Channel for ages. He was fantastic. I'm not a fan of country music, but Nashville has a lot more to offer than just honky tonks. It has a vibrant and clean downtown with a lot of charm and old character. Just loved it and could imagine myself living there and enjoying it. We didn't make the best eating choices though. Stopped at an Amish smokehouse Monday afternoon and got some homemade peanut brittle and stuff to put in our daughter's Easter basket. Had a fried green tomato and bacon sandwich Monday night. Then Tuesday for lunch we stopped at a bona fide Kosher deli and had a corned beef sandwich, Reuben soup, and a cheesecake imported from NY. It was fabulous, but so calorie dense. We've been eating lighter ever since we got home Tuesday afternoon though, so I feel better. I put a lot of huge projects to bed last week, so I'm feeling less stressed. Now if Mr Coco could get over his vertigo and fatigue, it would be smooth sailing, at least until the next crisis.
