185 this morning. I’m missing my 1 pound a week drop. Oh how successful that 1 pound drop seems right now 😀. Actually I was thrilled to see 185 this morning. I feel as if I have gained weight. Just feel fatter. That I am not is shocking. I need to work harder this week and not cheat myself. A spoonful of peanut butter or handful of pecans really does add up to bad things. This time next week I will be in the air and on my way to LA! Woohoo!

Funny how all our diets are different. I will have peanut butter on 1/4 bagel or half English muffin because it has 7 grams of protein in 2 tablespoons and no cholesterol. But it is 190 calories, so I'll usually just have 1 tablespoon which is all 1/4 bagel needs. Then it's just 3.5 grams of protein but I take them wherever I can find them. And I often eat a handful of nuts. Protein and good fat, no cholesterol. When I told my doctor I usually had 2 tablespoons of chopped almonds or walnuts he said I could have double that and still be losing weight. I do like to measure the nuts because the calories do add up.

Fritz - the peanut butter is not bad in itself. It is the quantity and the cravings that come along with it. I tend to have it as a snack in addition to my normal meal which means the calories are on top of what I should be having. For me the bagel would be the real no no.

Peanut butter has a lot of calories - too much to only get 3.5 grams of protein for one tablespoon. So I only use it when I run out of cream cheese or if I am having 1/2 English muffin. Only reason I have the bagel is because I cut it in 4 pieces. One slice is only 60-70 calories compared to 250 or so for a whole bagel. And it satisfies me. And after reading Dryphtyr's post I think I will start having Grape Nuts for breakfast once the bagels are gone. It works for my "reduce processed foods" challenge, it only has 4 ingredients and I've heard of them all: whole grain wheat flour, malted barley flour, salt, dried yeast. Well, actually, I'm not sure what malted barley flour is, but it doesn't sound all that bad!

You are correct. I do my best to not give Into the nut butter cravings I try to just have buts for the crunch and the boost in fat. But when I cave into the peanutbutter I do bad things to myself

I've got a jar of P2B in my cupboard, it hits the spot when I'm craving nut butter. (Powdered peanut butter that you reconstitute with water) 50 cals per 2 tbs, and it's pretty good on English muffins!

I had never realized PB2 had fewer calories. Great idea
