Päiväkirja - ShyGuy, 05 maalis 16

Day 7, and I've gotten through my first week back on my low carb lifestyle. I thank God for giving me the strength to stay focused. On the menu today: bacon and eggs for breakfast, pan grilled tilapia and broccoli for lunch, and pan grilled white bass and spinach for dinner. I've never had white bass before, but since I like fish, and it was on sale, I took a chance on buying some; no worries. :-)

Thanks. The real challenge will be a week from tomorrow, when it's time for my team to serve at church again. I serve in the TV Ministry, and that's a group of people that loves to eat; none of it low carb, and in my position there's always a bowl, filled with candy, sitting right in front of me. If I can get past that, I can deal with anything. :-)

Congrats on your one-week anniversary! I'm wondering if there's any chance you can change that group dynamic within your church. Could you sub-in a carb-friendly snack, such as celery sticks with ranch or whatever low-carb dressing you can find (or make) for dipping? Pork rinds and hot sauce?

Thanks for the support. No worries, about the lack of low carb eats; I usually make it a point of eating breakfast, before leaving the house, and I'll make sure it's a good one that day. As for the candy, that will be sitting in front of me; my contribution will be an assortment of sugar free candy that will be added to the mix; that way if I grab a few pieces, no harm, no foul. I'm sure there will be others who will appreciate the addition as well. :-)

God is awesome...all we have to do is ask! Sounds like you have a plan for the candy bowl...just ask God to remind you that you can only reach for a SF piece...and He will! My problem is that I don't always listen to His nudgings! That's when the real remorse sets in.... Congrats on week one down.....

Today I finally got around to making my crustless quiche. It contains: spinach, bacon, leeks, and feta cheese. It turned out great, and I tasted it side by side with the frittata I made, last night, for today's dinner; both are equally tasty.
