Today has not been a good one. I decided not to go on the hike because my knee is still bothering me. It is too important for future walking to damage it any further when rest is likely all that it needs. Plus I stepped on the scale and had gained weight. Not good! I know it is temporary fluctuations but still. So overall I’m a bit down in the dumps on a beautiful day. I will watch hiking videos and try to snap out of it.

If you have a knee injury the weight gain is likely due to fluid in the knee and extra lymph fluid the body produces to aid itself with healing. RICE, rest, ice, compression/wrap (if needed) and elevate, these may help but if you still have it in a few days you should check with your medical professional to see what they recommend.

I have a similar problem with my back....it's a real downer for me to know I can't just pop in the gym or hike like I use to. very hard getting use to. going to start with some water activities and see how that goes.
