I am new to this app. I am starting my first day of a very long journey. I injured my back in 2019. I have gained well over 100lbs. I am 5’3 and weight 273lbs. I saw my doctor yesterday and was in tears. I could keep feeling sorry for myself or I can do something about it. I am choosing my health! My goal is to lose 113lbs. Here goes nothing 👍

Don’t start this journey by saying, “here goes nothing”. If you speak to yourself that way, that is exactly how things will work out. How bad do you want this? Are you willing to just keep moving one foot ahead of the other. You can do this. Lots of people here have.great success stories, you can have one also.

This community is fantastic and has been a game changer for so many of us. To what everyone has said I will add to make habits of measuring and logging your foods every day (even the mistakes) and checking in here for support and advice. It will help keep your mind on track. Hope you can figure out how to work some moderate exercise into your routine also. Needed for your brain as well as your body! Good luck to you. You can do this, and we’re here to cheer you on.

this is a great app. I started 5-2-22 at 148 lb taking in 1600 calories. Just discovered to maintain 141 lb my number is 1400 calories. Use the macro and nutrient info to adjust your intake to balance out what your diet is missing. I try to allow calories at the end of the day for my 150 calorie ice cream sandwich treat. I always put in everything even when I eat way over. Raw vegetables of all kinds have become my friend. don't rush this. be persistent. small slow loses are fine. don't quit and you will succeed!

I think there is a misconception of my attitude and intent for wanting to change my life. Please be careful when you comment because you don’t know the whole story or even me as a person. I was a power lifter and that was a huge part of my life that is gone. I’m changing my life because I am choosing to change my perspective. Please keep it positive 👍 Thank you everyone for all the support!

Just remember 1 day at a time. Start small and work up!! Get active if only a slow walk 30 minutes a day. Break it up to 15 minutes at a time. Do you!! Don’t set unrealistic goals or expectations because that’s setting yourself up for feelings of failure. Remember YOU got this. You didn’t gain it overnight it’s not going to go away overnight.

Shelbyrhill - I was a power lifter too. At 176 lbs I have little fat and was in great shape. I shot up to 276 pounds and have struggled to get/keep the weight off. I would lose it and gain it. I would cry as it came back and felt resentful for others who ate what they wanted and didn't gain weight. I was in an accident, and it seemed all I had to do was look at food and gain. I am currently following a plan and happy to let you know the weight IS coming off. Keep your goal in mind and don't let others distract you. Keep the water up! That is a tremendous help. Good luck and you have my prayers that you reach your goal.
