Used to exercise about three hours a day (school & junior college), including stair climbing - 30 floors. Then stopped as I got closer to graduation. Career was my focus. No exercise = Weight gain. Then tried Atkins diet (1-2 yrs). Worked in the beginning, but health took a beating. Stopped diet + intense stress + major break up (fiance) = gave up on myself. Bad habits + late nights = health condition that caused insulin sensitivity (PCOS)! This led to weight gain of 20 kgs or 44 pounds in just one year :(. Couldn't even bear to see snaps of myself. After much prayer + small surgery = Decided this is it! Went back to gyming + dieting (cutting sugar, white flour & oily stuff). Super dedication = lost 7 kgs in 3 months. Then, injured my spine. There’s an enemy of my diet & health! So bed rest + inability to move + couldn't exercise = only hope - good diet! I couldn’t sit up without a cervical belt. Managed to maintain my weight (yay!). A year later, began walking 1/2 flights of stairs & some walking without a belt. I needed more, so I began to research. I figured it’s all about calorie intake & metabolism. What's the most convenient way to maintain a journal? Google search = found FATSECRET! Started slow last year & managed great results. Then, I went slack. After much struggle, I decided to stick to this. I finally stuck to doiong this in 2012. It wasn’t easy, as I had an allergy attack, which put me on steroids that hinder weight loss.
Achieved significant weight loss in 2013/14. Was healthier, fitter & no trace of spinal injury. Dancing & splitting = highly flexible. Then, an unexpected turn. Mother was diagnosed with cancer. Had to look after her. No exercise + less sleep + nil dieting (lots of refined carbs & fatty foods) + dengue + malaria + uric acid problems = Gained loads. However, I am back on track. In a year's time, I aim to be in the 60s range. Surrendering all in prayer!
