Well I had this recipe for low carb meatloaf using pork rinds instead of bread crumbs ... someone at work gave me it ... and I just went to 3 stores and none had pork rinds . So I don't know what dinner will be now. Anybody got another idea for the meatloaf . The kids think we are having meatloaf. I guess I could make regular for them and just make me a burger.
I got the ketone test strips and it was totally negative. Maybe I am impatient. How many days of induction days it take ? I am on day 3. Guess I will give it a few more days.
I did get a good workout in today so that's s plus.
I guess I am just alittle frustrated. Last week I only lost a pound and I really need to see a loss this week.

Well ... my new scale came today . And I weighed myself and it is within a few ounces of my old one . Sooooooo that extra 6 pounds the one at work added to me has to be wrong and/or added from clothing and such. Anyway , I am relieved to have that concern off my mind. I will only use the work scale for the purpose of the work challenge. All other tracking will use my own.
We went shopping over the weekend and got a great deal on a new big flatscreen tv for in my living room. And got the kids a new smart wifi blu ray player. We have alot of family movie nights on the weekends so we will all enjoy that. But I am sooooo excited cause now I am putting the old tv and dvd player in the basement ( which is a large empty waste of space ) and making myself a dedicated workout area. I really think I need that because then I have no excuse and dont have to worry about who else might want the tv. And also I dont have to have the kids all around me while working out. I think my boys would be mortified if I was working out in the middle of the living room while they have a houseful of friends . I am excited to have my own space where I can workout when I want to. I cant wait to get it all set up and ready. Hopefully within the next week I can get it all ready. I want to get some type of mat or padding for the floor , because I dont think laying down on a cold concrete floor would feel very good, and alot of my dvds have portions that are floor exercises, others are cardio and some a great mix of both.
On another positive note , At work last night the nurse I was working with saw me eating my healthy packed lunch and said " I thought you seemed thinner and you sure look like you have alot more pep in your step" . It felt really good to have someone notice that had not been told what I was doing. I feel much better lately, I feel healthier and that feeling pushes me more and more each day.

Hi everybody ...
I have been trying to eat low carb for a while now ... no bread ,no pasta , getting most carbs from veggie sources. But I have to admit , and I have tried Atkins induction before and never could do it. 20 net carbs is VERY low , I can easily go over than in veggies alone ( and I love veggies ) ! However I decided that now that I have prepped myself and have already been eating low carb I would give it my all and try again , and see what the results look like.
So this week I am going to make more effort than I ever have before and do Atkins Induction phase. Yesterday my net carbs were 20.75 . Thats the lowest I have ever been in a day. So everyday this week I am going to make a large effort and do this. Lets home the scales applaud my effort.

Well it wasnt a huge loss week like last weeks 6 pound loss ... but a pound loss is definatly better than a pound gained. Keep on striving for next week : )

Well my eating for the day was going GREAT ... and then I went to drop the boys off at football training and all of the sudden there was an impromtu dinner invite with another mom and her daughter. Of course my daughter was like please mommy can we ?? so I said ok.
Now this was my all time favorite restaurant , BEFORE. And I now realize it can never be my favorite again because the menu includes nothing healthy AT ALL. Its an italian/pizza restaurant. All of the dinner are pasta. So I did the best I could under the circumstances. And the new me was cringing thinking that the old me wouldnt have thought twice about what I ordered and chowed down.
I had a side salad with house vinegarette. And then an appetizer order of sausage stuffed banana peppers ( which was 2 small peppers with what was probably less than one link of sausage) .
Does that seem like a reasonable choice considering that all other items were either fried, pizza or pasta, none of which would have been good. I am on my second month of my new healthy eating style and I have to learn to live again. I realized I have been avoiding social situations because I fear that I will screw up. But I am a social person. I feel kinda out of the loop lately and I need to resume my normal life , while eating healthy and making better choices.
How do you all handle dining out with friends ???
