Well, another 2 down this week. I'm now officially under the weight I was when I started transitioning to Phase 2. So, this week I ate 60 NC daily and any kind of fruits and vegetables I wanted and even popcorn (since it is technically corn), and still lost 2 pounds. I think it has to do with the fact that I have a lot more low calorie options now so it's easier to stay between 1600-1800 calories/day. Snacking on baby carrots instead of nuts is a lot less calories, for example. So, starting this week I will add back whole grains and increase NC to 70 daily. I'm a little worried about this stage because of the fact that I'll be able to actually have bread, but I probably won't have much of it. Also, I added back potatoes last week, so this week I think I'm gonna treat myself to some French fries, but only if they fall within the calorie limit. Otherwise it's a no. The calorie limit is a must. Also, I've still been drinking at least 80 ounces of water daily (about 1/2 my weight). And I'm still doing Pilates for an hour 5 days/wk, so I think that's made a huge difference too. I've come to really enjoy phase 2 now that my body has gotten used to it and I've got the calories, water, and exercise routine down. Only 7 pounds to go!

Well, I am back to the weight I was when I started OWL on January 23, 2016. It's basically just been a fluctuation of up a couple pounds, down a pound, ever since I started this phase. I didn't know what to expect this week because I went up to 50 NC and added back all other fruits. On Sunday I will go up to 60 NC and add back all other vegetables (I've been eating LC veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, and lettuce, up to this point, but this is adding back all the starchy ones like carrots, corn, etc. I'm pretty excited. I've noticed that it was easier to keep my calorie count down this past week with the addition of other fruits. Now I pack a small apple with my lunch instead of a couple servings of nuts. Or I'll have 1/2 a large banana with my tuna and 1 oz of almonds instead of tuna with 2 oz of almonds. I also rarely eat fried foods any more. I had fried eggs once this week and I was eating them every day back when I was on 20 NC per day, but I didn't worry about calories as much back then because I was in ketosis. Also, I upped my exercise to an hour, five days a week, so I'm sure that helped offset the extra 10 NC I added on this past week. Only 9 more pounds to goal and about 5 weeks til my honeymoon. My goal is to have transitioned enough to where I can have normal food choices by then (but sensible of course), and I didn't want to gain any weight while transitioning. We'll see how this upcoming week goes with 60 NC and the addition of starchy veggies.

Well, this was a pleasant surprise considering I increased to 35 NC and added back yogurt and milk this past week. I think the workouts have been helping. I increased my workouts to 45 min, 5 days a week. And I've been watching calories closely. The book recommends that you stay between 1600-1800 while doing the program, but I never really did that while I was in induction, but since I was gaining when I first started OWL I figured that could be one of the things holding me back. And with the increased exercise that probably helps lower the calories if I do go over a little. I didn't realize how much I missed milk and Greek yogurt until I got to start having it. Perfect breakfast is a cup of Greek yogurt with 1/4 cup blueberries and 1 oz peanuts (since I can't have granola yet). That comes in at about 13 carbs. Well, since I've made progress it's the day to up to 40 NC and add back legumes. I'm actually not too excited about this section because I don't really care for legumes, but I guess some chili would be nice. See ya next week!

My body is being so stubborn! Ugh. Added back some more berries this week (blueberries and raspberries) since I was already eating blackberries. It seems like Phase 2 is not a weight loss phase. I have lost and gained since I've started it and right now I am 2 pounds heavier than I was when I started Phase 2 on January 23, 2016. So, idk how ppl can lose weight during this phase. Also I increased my NC to 30, so that may have also attributed to the gain (more than the berries). I understand that this is a way of life, but I'd like to be transitioned off by May for my honeymoon. I already missed out on wedding cake and stuff on my wedding in January because I was so strict, but when you're going to Disney World you want to be able to eat a Mickey shaped ice cream bar and not feel sick, right? Right. So I think I'm gonna stick to 30 NC again this week and add back the next rung. Also the gain could partially be muscle because I increased my reps from 12 to 15 this week, which increased my daily workouts from 20 to 30 mins. So, I think it's safe to step up the next rung. I'll have to re-read the chapter to figure out exactly what that is, but I guess we'll see how that goes. I'm honestly scared to transition like this because here are so many stories of ppl gaining all of the weight back. That's why I'm weighing every week again.

Finally going back down after a couple weeks of gaining! Also, finally going down while in Phase 2. I have been in Phase 2 for a month now and have not been losing, only gaining. I've added back nuts and berries and I thought that was all I was ever gonna add back at the rate I was moving up the scale. Here's what I think made the difference this week: (1) I started tracking my water intake to make sure I'm getting the minimum amount each day, (2) Cutting back on calories (one less egg, one less tablespoon of mayo, blackberries instead of fried eggs every morning, etc), (3) Exercising! (I haven't exercised the whole time I've been on Atkins, but I'm desperate to make the scale move and tone up the flabbiness I've been left with. I only exercise 20 mins a day, 5 days a week right now, but hope to build up the endurance to do 30-40 mins per day, (4) Less artificial sweeteners. I've only been having about 1-2 servings per day and the minimum is 3. I was drinking like 44 oz Diet Pepsi all the time, but that was way too much. I knew better, but the more sweet I had the more I craved. Now that I am finally losing again I'm gonna add back another type of berry and increase my daily carb intake from 25-30. Wish me luck!
