trying this again. Been using the atkins carb counter but it doesn't work on my phone half the time. I started April 27, went into dehydration with severe cramping. Found I need to make sure I get plenty of potassium and sodium. Its gotten better. I usually drink a cup of broth to boost the sodium. I lost five pounds my first week or so, then haven't lost an ounce since. My blood sugars are looking great though. This morning was 129 but I've had as low as 110. It is more stable now, before it was ranging from 120 - 299. Tonight we picked up a roasted chicken because of time restraint. Tomorrow I'm planning on making lasagna without the noodles. Food has been good and varied, but I'm picky. I will only eat three vegetables at this stage, broccoli, cauliflower, and green beans. Even later I only like peas and corn on top of these. I can't stand any other veggies. Getting creative with just three vegetables is challenging.

Well I haven't been putting in my food the last couple days very well. Partly because I've not had the time, and I think I've got this down pretty well, I'm still eating low carb and still eating less calories than I use a day. However this weekend and one day next week is the fair. All bets and all diets are off for the fair. We splurge. I don't go way overboard cause i just can't handle that much food anyway, but it will have sugar and flour. I will try to start putting in my food again after this "holiday". I'm getting quite bored though too. Eating mostly meat and cheese is really making me eat less. Going out to eat is so difficult I don't even want to. We will be purchasing some new cookbooks so I'm hoping that will help. I need lunches I can just grab and go, so hopefully I can do some make ahead things. I've also had another health issue raise its head. Dr says I definately have hyperparathyroidism. It doesn't have weight gain or loss as a symptom but I'm sure my body likes to use anything as an excuse! lol. But it might explain alot of the feeling like i'm going to throw up all the time. Waiting to see the specialist but the only cure is surgery to remove the bad parathyroid(s).

Well, ate popcorn at the movies twice last week. Didn't gain but didn't lose either. Got disappointed over the weekend. We were checking out the south beach diet cause it says we can eat more, but it wasn't adding anything I care for and was taking away from what I am able to eat now. That wasn't what I was looking for! But my pants are looser today. I've lost most of the upper tummy fat. my skins looks better. I'm not as tired, head isn't fuzzy. I'm wondering how much not having refined flour and sugar has to do with it. What about a fairly gluten free diet? What exactly is making me feel better. (other than when my gut gets so sick) Well next weekend is the fair. I won't be following any diet then, its eat anything days! Maybe i'll find out if its the processed foods. We are thinking about grinding our own flours. I also need to do some tests on baking with alternate (low carb) items, cakes, cookies, icings. Can I still make and decorate a cake that is low carb? We will see
