GoodMan being supportive at the Unity Music Festival last night. It's not his style of music but he said he liked it. We'll see how he feels after 3 more nights of it!

I stayed on-plan with my eating. I made a nice salad in the hotel room before we headed over to the festival grounds and warmed up some BBQ pulled pork to eat with it. I brought gluten free/sugar free cookies to the festival and enjoyed two with the shows. Unfortunately I found out not only can we not bring coolers into the festival grounds but metal water bottles are not allowed. I was able to retrieve my (expensive) water bottle at the main gate after the concert and I will plan to just drink bottled water sold at the venue (only $1 so not a bad price - just more waste).

I was able to put 10,000 steps on my Fitbit Blaze for the first time since I bought it last week - yea!! And I plan to do a lot of walking in the days to come. Today I will eat spinach casserole in the hotel room - prepared in advance and warmed in the microwave and I will bring salami/cream cheese roll-ups in a small insulated bag (NOT a cooler - lol) that will fit in my backpack for today's concerts. I also scoped out the venders - not much healthy, but I did see steak tips with mushrooms and onions for $12. I may have those for dinner, or I may just hike it back to the hotel for another salad made from ingredients I put in the hotel mini fridge.

Make your Thursday thoroughly enjoyable!

Happy Tuesday!

It's a chilly 50 degree morning in my neck of the woods, but the weatherman says it will be partly sunny and 80 degrees this afternoon so I won't complain. Today's chores are getting an oil change on my car, vacuuming out GoodMan's car, and power washing our Weathertech floor mats. I also need to figure out how to use our printer so I can print out our tickets for the Unity Music Festival which starts tomorrow in Muskegon.

We will be attending the Unity Music Festival from Wednesday through Saturday. We are staying at the Holiday Inn which is 5 blocks from the festival grounds. No coolers are allowed on the festival grounds and bags will be inspected (I'm assuming they are inspecting for alcohol, firearms, fireworks - not snacks). Our hotel room has a small refrigerator and microwave. Breakfast is not included in our room rate, but that isn't a problem for me because I've been eating my first meal around 11am or noon. I'm trying to figure out what I can bring to eat and follow my keto WOE. I think I will bring my first meal food (spinach casserole, taco salad, bacon, smoked sausage, hard boiled eggs) and eat that in my room at the hotel before we head over to the festival grounds at 1pm. I will just have to figure out what I can pack in a small bag that doesn't need refrigeration for the afternoons and evenings. There will be food vendors there, but I imagine all the offerings will be carb-loaded. I should be able to find a hamburger and just leave off the bun. Hopefully there will be kabobs or salads. I'll try to bring some salad dressing packets just in case.

I'm really getting excited about the Unity Music Festival! Some of my favorite Christian music artists will be there; Toby Mac, Casting Crowns, Tenth Avenue North, Laura Story, Matthew West, Hollyn, Passion Band, and lots of others. This is really outside my comfort zone. I don't usually do crowds, but when I heard about all the favorites being in one place I decided to go for it. GoodMan is not as into this music as I am, but he is being super supportive because he knows it must be a big deal for me (he was really surprised I actually went through with buying the tickets last April.) I will return the favor for him next week when I go to Pigeon Forge and Dollywood (crowds again) which is one of his favorite places.

Make your Tuesday terrific!

Blessed Sunday my friends,

GoodMan and I are heading downstate in a little while to visit my 90-year-old mother and later attend a "Senior Prom" put on by my older sister. She expects about 75 people to attend. I plan to see a couple of other sisters and a brother there too. That's almost all of the siblings. It's nice to have an excuse to see everyone. The plan was to go to church this morning before we left but GoodMan didn't get moving fast enough this morning. So I suggested we listen to Pastor's sermon (Podcast) on the way home.

I have packed a cooler with cold waters and keto appropriate lunch and snack items. I also made some homemade potato salad to take to my mom because she mentions how much she misses stuff like that when I talk to her on the phone. My siblings downstate do Mom's grocery shopping and they take her to the doctor and even to church sometimes, but they all have jobs so they don't do a lot of home cooking for her. When she lived up here by me I would make our dinner every night and then take a plate to her and watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy with her. I'm not sure if she misses the home cooked meals or the company, but all I can offer today is an hour or so visit and a container of potato salad. She is always sweetly grateful for everything everyone does for her.

I have no idea what my sister is serving at her party tonight so I packed extra cheese and deviled eggs and some cauliflower hummus. I also tried a recipe for keto/gluten free/sugar free chocolate chip cookies last night. I had one. They were okay. I think I'll change some things up next time, but I am bringing some with me so if I get too tempted by sweet stuff at the party I can have a keto treat. I don't know if it will really be an issue though, because I haven't really been craving anything or even what I would call tempted by anything for quite a while now.

I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday. Be a blessing to someone in your life.
